Gourdo Signs For Superally!!!!!!

Coach Ross Gourdie celebrated his 40th Birthday….yes 40th obviously his school years don’t count by achieving his schoolboy dream……..we all know the financial situation at Glasgow Rangers but manager Ally McCoist and the powers that be made their first signing of the January window when Ross put pen to paper at Murray Park this afternoon…..I said it was a ‘dream’ Ross.

Ross, Pauline & young Rhys were given a tour of Murray Park, watched the first team training, got a ball & strip signed by the squad and finally joined the manager in his office where they enjoyed tea & coffee before swopping football stories from their playing careers….would be better letting Rhys talk about First Touch instead of Ally having to kid on he knows of Inverkip Thistle.

I have a feeling there may have been some input from a certain Kenny Ramsay. (More pictures to follow I think)

COACHING RESUMES-IMPORTANT INFORMATION

FIRST TOUCH MAIN GROUP

Coaching resumes next Sunday 15th Jan, due to the recent storm damage at Battery Park Astro the pitch will be out of action for possibly 4 weeks….we will find out exactly how long over the next couple of days.

In the meantime we will be coaching on Sundays only at Notre Dame High School, Dunlop Street, kids to report for 9.45am for 10am start, the session will finish at 11.30am. Thursday sessions will resume when we return to the Battery Park after the work to repair the pitch has been completed.

****PLEASE NOTE-There will be NO CHANGING FACILITIES so please come with all your coaching kit on****

FIRST TOUCH KICKERS

Kickers sessions return on Weds 18th Jan at Aileymill Primary School, kids to report at 6.15pm for 6.30pm start.

Click to view slideshow.Our annual fundraising dance took place on Friday 6th Jan with a change of venue to the Dockers Club in Greenock. The evening was organised by Pauline Gourdie who was assisted on the night by Kelly McDonald & Elaine Coulter. Music was provided by ‘Boys Fae The Hill’ and catering was provided by Stacey Gatens of Buckley Catering. On the night there was hidden team cards, fantastic raffle with many excellent prizes(thanks to those who donated). roll £1 at bottles and lastly a superb auction consisting of signed Celtic, Rangers, Morton, Nacho Novo(Sporting Gijon) strips, Glasgow-Donegal flights from Loganair and Chairmans Hospitality X 4 at Cappielow donated by TonyBuckley. First Touch would like to thank each and everyone for their fantastic support and to date the superb total of £2,600 has been raised and this will be used to provide all of our kids with a full range of Adidas Training gear for next season

Special thanks to parent rep David Quigg for organising our annual Xmas treat for the kids, with a change of venue to the Laser Tag arena the kids enjoyed a fantastic day …..the only complaint coming from coach Bidge Clark who was very upset that he wasnt going to see Puss N Boots.

Any outstanding raffle tickets MUST be handed in at the fundraising dance on Friday 6th January…..First Touch will return on Sunday 15th January.

With various shapes and styles on view the star of the show had to be Paul Ramsay who only started growing his prior to coaching starting, second was parent Billy McFarlane who has been working on his since the start of the month and third place goes to coach Mick Harrington for sporting the Pancho Gonzales style…..in “Ginger”.

Coach John McClurg was not considered for a place when an anonymous mother stated “She had more hair on her legs”………your secrets safe with me Cath.

Click to view slideshow.Greetings from sunny Cyprus from our man Kenny Ramsay. See attached pictures of Kenny’s day where we had a media training session with Kenny Black watched by Craig Levein. Kenny was very pleased to say he won the keepy up competition(Madonna or Maradona) and ran the legs off the young journalists team (all mid 30′s) winning 3-0. The opposition included his reporter Robert Grieve which was rather pleasing. Watching First Touch coaching every week, it was all about keeping the ball and making them run until they dropped !!
Will Rambo feature on Friday for the Scotland V Cyprus game or will he only make the bench…….did Craig Levein find the next Darren Fletcher…….watch this space,

Our new Kickers sessions commence this Weds 2nd Nov at Aileymill Primary school, kids are asked to report for 6.15pm and the session will finish at 7.30-7.45pm.
